Tootsie Winner of 2010 Mannerism Stakes

February 22nd, 2010

The Caulfield Racecourse was host to a fantastic day of racing on Saturday in the Blue Diamond Stakes Day.

While the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) dominated the proceedings, the 2010 Mannerism Stakes also provided a good run, with Tootsie claiming her first win on Australian soil.

The Michael Moroney-trained mare won the 1,400 metre event by a long neck, after sitting back for the majority of the race, and taking down the field within the last 50 metres.

Tootsie beat Tony Noonan-trained Be Positive, who took the second spot.

Early out front was Red Flair and Rolling Stock, leading the field until the straight, and finished in fifth and eighth respectively.

Prior to the running of the 2010 Mannerism Stakes, Clothing was a strong contender to triumph, however the five-year-old mare finished way back in the field in seventh position.

Also taking place at the Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday was the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m).
