Nominations For 2010 Mannerism Stakes

February 16th, 2010

The Blue Diamond Stakes Day is being held this Saturday at the Caulfield Racecourse, and looks set to impress, with a plethora of elite races scheduled.

The Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) headlines the day’s proceedings, but the running of the 2010 Mannerism Stakes is another race high on the fixture.

The Group 3 race for mares four-years-old and over has drawn 11 nominations, and sees a total prize money of $125,000 for the 1,400 metre event, which will be the eighth race of the day.

Margham, the Peter Snowden-trained mare recently had an impressive run in the Hyderabad Race Club Stakes (1200m), where she finished third. Prior to that, in January she won the Aare Handicap (1300m) at Sandown, where she beat fellow 2010 Mannerism Stakes nominee Be Positive, who took second spot.

Graphic could be a strong contender for the 2010 Mannerism Stakes.

Some other feature races running at the Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday will be the Blue Diamond Stakes and the Group 2 St George Stakes (1800m).
